A study tool we wished existed when we were studying.

01What Vignette Study is

Vignette Study is a study tool for students who have too much material and not enough time. You upload a lecture — a PDF, an audio recording, slides, your own notes — and Vignette extracts the learning objectives, writes flashcards under each one, and schedules them with modern spaced repetition until exam day.

We built it because the existing options never quite matched. Generic Anki decks don't match your lectures. Review books don't match your boards. Cramming the night before doesn't match the way human memory actually works. We wanted a tool that took our material and built our deck, so we made one.

02Who it's for

Medical students are the heart of the audience — boards-style vignettes are the default question format, and the workflow is shaped around blocks, lectures, and shelf exams. The engine works the same way for any structured material, though.

03How we built it

We use large language models to extract learning objectives and generate cards, FSRS for scheduling, and a local-first sync layer so your work is available offline on phone and online on the web. All AI calls run server-side. We never use your uploaded content or your review history to train models — yours or anyone else's. The full subprocessor list and data flow are in our privacy policy.
